Join our Fusion Cluster !
Following on from the enthusiasm the north west wide UKAEA Heysham STEP nomination achieved, Bay Fusion has started to build a regionally focused cluster to showcase our regional capabilities across all sectors relevant to the commercialisation of fusion, bringing together individuals and organisations who want to play their role helping develop and industrialise this technology which is key to combating climate change. We also connect cluster members to the fusion sector and opportunities within it, using our expertise our team has gained over years of working within the fusion sector and similar hi-tech and complex industries.
Not just for Fusion Science !
We are looking to curate a cluster of expertise across a wide range of sectors - from environmental protection and logistics to precision engineering, data science and skills development - as well as sectors more traditionally aligned with nuclear which already is a well established industry in north west England. In order to industrialise fusion, a wide range of skills and expertise will be needed, some built from the ground up, and in order to deliver fusion beyond 2050s many industries must get ready now for the opportunities fusion industrialisation will present them. Our cluster aims to facilitate opportunities for all.
Who Can Join ?
Our cluster is open to applications from:
- Individuals - including students, professionals and academics who would like to learn more about fusion with a view to gaining a future role in the industry or sharing their knowledge with the sector.
- Organisations - businesses, academic/research organisations and industry bodies who wish to support the emerging fusion sector - including those who wish to learn more about opportunities and collaboration in the sector.
On joining the cluster we aim to make you part of our north west fusion story and we look forward to working together with you in the future.
Whilst we welcome applications from individuals, if you are a member of the public and would just like to be kept up to date with our activities, including public events, then please join our newsletter instead !

How Much Does it Cost ?
We plan on making our cluster as accessible as possible to both large and small organisations as well as individuals, so for the first year we plan on making our cluster free to join and participate. Depending on feedback from our cluster members as activities progress, in the future we may charge a small fee per year to aid the running of our cluster however we plan to minimise this with the support of industry sponsorship, and by charging for specialist events, training and support services. Our focus is making north west England a key player in the fusion energy revolution!
